Duties And Responsibilities

The Sheriff, elected countywide for a four-year term, is tasked with both law enforcement and administrative responsibilities. Law enforcement duties focus on maintaining peace throughout the county. On the administrative side, the Sheriff serves as the county’s jailor, prepares and submits the office budget to the Board of Supervisors, maintains Mississippi Department Reports, and oversees the jail docket.
